The number of persons involved in traffic collisions each year is tremendous. From 2008-2010 the population has lost 343, 347 and 319 individuals respectively to traffic collisions. Male drivers are most at risk, since over 80% of the drivers involved in fatal collisions were males. The Road Safety Unit is appealing to all road users to be safe. Motorists tend to neglect certain simple practices to remain safe, such as the use of seatbelts, helmets and car seats for children.
