Invitation to Tender

The Ministry of Transport and Mining invites Tenders from eligible contractors for the provision of Safety and Security Services for its locations at:

  • 138H, 140 & 145 Maxfield Avenue, Kingston 10.

Description of Services:         Provision of 24 hour security at the specified locations.
Supervision and frequent patrols of locations

Eligibility:                               Proof of registration with the National Contracts Commission (NCC) in the category of Safety and Security Services;
Copy of a valid Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC);
Proof of certificate and  registration with the Private Security Regulation Authority (P.S.R.A).

Cost for Tender Document:   The cost for the Tender Document is J$3,000.00. This amount should be paid to the cashier prior to the collection of the Tender Document, and it is non-refundable. Payment can be in the form of cash or manager’s cheque.Tender document can be collected from the Procurement Unit of the Ministry of Transport and Mining at 138H Maxfield Avenue, Kingston 10, starting July 24, 2017.

Return of Tenders:                 Tenders must be deposited in the tender box at the Procurement Unit of the Ministry of Transport and Mining at 138H Maxfield Avenue, Kingston 10.  

Deadline for submission:        Tenders must be submitted no later than August 22, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Tender opening will be held on August 22, 2017 at 2:15 pm in the 1st Floor Conference Room at the Ministry of Transport and Mining, 138H Maxfield Avenue, Kingston 10.

NB: If a bidder did not directly purchase the Tender Document, then that bidder will be ineligible to participate in the procurement process.

The Ministry of Transport and Mining is not obliged to accept the lowest or any bid, and also reserves the right to terminate the Tender process at any point before the award of a contract, without incurring any liability to any of the participants.
